Web Maps for Communities & Non Profits

The United Way of Yellowstone County, serving Billings, Montana and the surrounding county hired Geodata  Services, Inc. to provide training and develop a new Maps and Stats program.  Supporting the Best Beginnings early childhood collaboration and other programs, the goal was to provide web maps on reading proficiency, housing, crime, food and medicine insecurities, healthy family activities, demographic and economic characteristics.

This is one of the first United Way offices in the world to deploy maps on Esri ArcGIS Online.  Learn More.

Local Government Infrastructure & Operations

Low cost commercial of the shelf software solutions such as ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online and mobile mapping applications have become powerful and affordable enough that many rural counties and towns are maintaining their own software systems for daily operations and maintenance.  For example, we are working with communities to maintain GIS for their water, stormwater and wastewater systems, along with other infrastructure including roads, bridges, structure addresses and planning.

Telecommunications and Broadband

We worked with the states of Montana and North Dakota for five years to prepare the first map of broadband availability for wired and wireless coverage through the National Broadband Program and Map, under the National Telecommunications Information Agency in the Department of Commerce.  We continue  to work with individual telecommunications companies throughout the US to provide regular reports to the FCC such as the Form 477 reports and HUBB reporting, and assist them in implementing their own GIS systems.
